Spring Fever

I was doing good with this whole Missouri winter thing until a few days of 45 and 50 degree weather! Now it's on my mind. To say I have spring fever is a gross understatement. So the other day when a friend asked me to make a birthday cake for her husband, who loves the outdoors and hiking/camping, My fever got even worse! But anyway, here is the finished producted. Needless to say, the first sign of nice weather this is going to be me!

Feelings

These are funny things. Sometimes they work for us and other times they are like a chain around our necks slowing us down. Lately, I must say, I have been overwhelmed with feelings of all sorts, but none that I can name. You know those times...the ones where you are feeling everything, but can explain none of it. Ok, most of the women reading this are probably knodding because they do...whereas the men are thinking, "What do ya mean ya don't know what you feel!" Guys, it is ok. We women have these times...don't panick and always bring chocolate! LOL!!!!
Anyway, my lack of posting would have everything to do with these feelings and school, oh and having a new puppy, oh and work....ok well maybe it just has everything to do with life!

So my apologies...I will work on my regularity!

A look in my window...

*watching Criminal Minds...a great show that is so nail biting (when you haven't seen every episode four times!)

*looking out my window at all the snow...thinking of my sister hates white!
*homework (and my blog) open on my computer's desktop...guess which one is getting more attention!

*in my kitchen, are a whole bunch of dishes! But hey, nobody's coming over...right? I mean, I could do them...just let me know! :)

*the house is actually fairly picked up. A puppy has that effect on a house. What a great motivator...pick it up or chew it up!

*on my mind, there are three children who have burdened my heart after our sessions today.

*thinking I love facebook for the connection it gives me with my battle buddies down range (God bless you all!)

*wishing that I had been able to spend more time with my family today.

*hating that I have to take a dog outside every hour so that she doesn't ruin this carpet!

*laughing at the stupidity of the comercials on TV and of course the battle buddy I am chatting with on Facebook (battle buddies are always there when ya need 'em!)

Yeah, that about sums up the last few minutes. I am like the Missouri weather though, wait five minutes and it might change!

I know...but it was cute! :)

This is my newest addition to my apartment. Azlan is a 3 month old Australian Cattle Dog. She is very inquisitive, sweet and (at times) rambunctious! It has totally changed the look of the apartment and is a great decorative piece...are you buying that?

SNOW :<)

Only about three and a half inches, so it didn't complicate things too much. But it did cover things again.

Missouri life...oh, how I didn't miss this!

An "Aunt Erin" night

Last night I was watching my nieces and nephew when my oldest niece tells my sister that they were having an "Aunt Erin" night. So I thought I would let you all see what an Aunt Erin night entails.

First, of course, we need a play place and what better place to find that than Mickey D's! So Happy meals all around...chicken for some, hamburgers for others.

We aso need some down time after all that playing, so movie is next. (Don't ask how long it takes to pick one out that everyone agrees on.)
Ice cream (or slushi for some) goes great with movies, and, of course, everyone has a different favorite flavor! So we went pint size and everyone was happy!

ICE, ice, BABY!

Yet more ICE!

Layer #1

(that's not static its ice!)

They are saying we are supposed to get ice then snow...so I figured I would let those who have sunshine and cloudless skies enjoy a little winter!

Since I am going to be home and don't want the furnace running all the time, I decided to do a little insulating. I just taped a blanket over the sliding glass door and there was a noticable difference in the draftiness of my living room!

This is my favorite part of days like this. I love hot drinks...coffee, tea, cider! They are all sooo good!

Now we wait...

As the Missouri world prepares for a "blizzard", I have to chuckle to myself.  I have to admit, I went to Wal-Mart and got some supplies, cooked a few meals that don't have to be heated, made sure all of my electronics were charges and turned up the heat while I could.
But I love after that is all done and you take the time to look out the window to see...nothing! I know it is coming. It just makes me giggle a little because there isn't much going on yet, but even the news is just a continuous run of this person with sleet and that person with snow (none in my area yet), weather dopplers and web cams, school closings and blizzard warnings! And Wal-Mart, let me tell you...no eggs, not much milk, and very little, well anything!
The part that I found the most interesting...is city people!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to laugh standing in line with my fruits, milk, pickles, canned beans...you know things that you don't have to heat to eat. The people in front of me had...microwave dinners, salt, beer, de-icer (for the car windshield), eggs.
They assume that their roads will magically clear so that they can go to work, that they electric could NEVER go out, and that even though all these things are true, they will still have their beer to enjoy being off when their work closes! LOL! These city people are nuts!
Guess we will see who is right? Think I will have school tomorrow??? NAH!!!!
