God-given work

Over the past month, Brian and I have been searching for a job for him that will show the courts that we have plenty of money coming in and that the money is stable. See, for the last four months, Brian has been working on a business, Kingston Woodwork and Farms (KWF). It has been steady work and we are making enough to meet our budget needs...AND...Brian is able to work from home making signs, building furniture, refinishing wood products, and farming. We have been so blessed by this endeavor that the Lord has laid before us. Because the courts are concerned about the stability of this new business, Brian has gotten a part time job to show them that stability. That hasn't slowed us down at all!!!!

Christmas is coming up and we would love to give you a price on a sign, table, bench, bookshelf, or more! Below are some of our products...just leave a comment, facebook message, call or text to get us started on your quote TODAY!!!

Long Time

So it's been a long time I know, but I find myself in the January blues mode. I am unmotivated and so therefore would rather take a break in with a book than get all my work done. But life is going on!

We are in full house contract mode. Which means we have every paper record we have ever kept out for review and refiling! The table to a mess and it stays that way because I refuse to clean it up then have to redo work the next day.
We should be closing on February 13th if everything goes through with the contract. We are super excited and yes a little nervous too!

Here is the link if ya wanna take a look at "almost" our new home!

Brian lived here during college for awhile with a friend, which is how we found out that it was on the market. We were able to talk them into backing off the price and are so glad that we did.

I have found that living by faith doesn't always mean living without fear. I am not ejoying signing a contract that puts me into thousands of dollars in debt, but I know that this is where God wants me right now so I follow where he leads and let him do the worrying.

Again, sorry it took so long to write. Hoping to get into a rythme here soon! Thanks for reading!

Wedding Cake

Yesterday, I went to Harps in Little Rock to order my wedding cake. I had expected to walk and look through some books and then tell them what I wanted. I was pleasantly surprised when the worker picked up the books and led me to a table. She sat me down and told me to begin looking while she got me some cake to taste. I was thinking...a small piece of cake or two...not even close.

Out she walks with this tray!

There were five kinds of cake and three kinds of icing to mix and match.

So I am sitting there looking through three-ring binders full of pictures of wedding cakes now eating this glorious cake and thoroghly enjoying myself, when I thought...poor Brian should be involved in the process of picking what will be his wedding cake too. (Yet another thing I love about him...he is actually interested in wedding plans and quite helpful with all the details!) So I text him a couple of pictures of different designs, so that he can help me with this decision. Of course, I can't help but torture him with a picture of all the cake that I am getting to try, not sure he appreciated that much (good thing he has a sense of humor!).

This is the one that we both liked. We changed up the details and colors a little, but you will have to wait until the wedding pictures are done to see all of those.

Plans Plans Plans

I feel like over the last three days (I still can't believe it has only been three days...feels like three weeks) since we have gotten engaged. We have made some decisions and still have many more to go. For now though, here is the plan...

November 5th : We will have our wedding. It is going to be in Little Rock and be a very small family event.

Now nobody panic!!!!! We are having a reception in Missouri after we are married to celebrate with all of our friends and family up here. We have a date picked, but I have to check with the church. So more to come on that!

My love

So last night was not the night I thought would change my life forever...I was simply spending time with the man I love and the next thing I knew I was engaged.
I love the way that Brian knows me so well. His proposal was sweet and totally...me! He knows how much I value family and the memories that are held within them, so he gave me one of his Aunt Dawn's ring (who is really my second momma). He is using this ring to hold the place of another special ring, his mother's. My heart melts a little each time I think about how much it will mean to wear a ring worn by such an incredible woman. She is a lady that I greatly admire and would love to be like in so many ways.
Brian and I are in the early planning stages of this new chapter, but we know that our engagement will be a short one. Brian is very busy about the Lord's work in Conway, Arkansas and I can't wait to join him in it.
When we know more details, I will let you all know. Thanks for all the prayers and support.

I am in a statistics class this semester and I am in need of some data for a homework assignment. I you could answer this question, in  the comment section, it would greatly help me.

THANKS! :)

How many times have you been stopped by a police officer, to include times that you were in or out of your car, that you didn't get a ticket, and/or any check points (DUI road blocks, seatbelt check points)?

PS ~ Though most of you won't care, I will post the statistics that I gather, but promise not to use any names! ;}

oFF

Today was a training holiday for the 94th BSB. The day started out with me thinking about the future. It is an amazing feeling to be getting ready to start another type of life. There are so many things to do, but it is all so much like a book that is in the middle of a story...the author is still deciding which end to use. How do you choose and where do you look? You would think that it would be very simple having military experience, but in reality...who really cares whether you know how to don your nuclear protective gear in less than five minutes head to toe or that you can hit 32 out of 36 with an M4 or M240B. Those skills don't really translate too well into civilian world. Trust me, I have talked to many of my battle buddies who have gotten out and they are saying the same thing.
Don't get me wrong the idea of freedom...oh my...and it being just around the corner! There are no words to describe how much I am wishing that day here! It is exciting and thrilling!
My only hesitation is...what do I do now? So here's the deal, I want your opinions.

Tell me what you think I would be good at...a good direction for me to go in, a career choice that you think I would be good in, or an area for me to consider.

LET ME KNOW!!!!!

05 February 2010

Let me know...

So since I have been laid up in bed, I have been  thinking about what I am going to do when I get out. All the books and magazines and classes say that you shouldn't go right into another job after you leave the military. They recommend that you take some time off and let the civillian world sink back in.
SO
I am going to take a road trip. There are so many people I want to see before I get tied down to one spot again. Write me a comment if you want me to put you on my map for a stop! I have about ten places on all sides of the US and a couple outside of the US for that matter. Just let me know and I will do my best to pencil you in.
Can't wait to see all of you!
